Paper Garden

Paper Garden was inspired by and created in reaction to the environmental damage occurring in Los Angeles and around the world as a result of human activity and irresponsibility. The projected content is a film loop composed of trees, flowers, and fire, which create the color and bring the alternative screen to life. The piece itself is ironic, as it is made of paper--a resource that directly impacts forests and natural spaces through the production of lumber. Paper is also a fragile object known to burn easily, which draws a parallel between the fragility of nature and the depth of our effect on it.
